Dr Banjo Adeleke holds the Bachelor of Science degree (first class
honors) in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin,
Nigeria in 1980 and the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the
University of Manchester, Manchester, England in 1986. Banjo had a
stint in the academia at the University of Ilorin and Academia Sinica,
Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China prior to joining the Oil and Gas
sector where he worked for 30 years with Shell International,
Petrofac Ltd and BG International until his retirement in September
- He is currently a freelance Petroleum Engineering Consultant
in Justus PetroConsult Ltd (Aberdeen, Scotland and Lagos, Nigeria)
The impetus for Banjo to join GHIA as Patron came from the loss of
his sister at the age of 50 to Stage IV breast cancer due to lack of
education and awareness on early detection and treatment. Banjo
will support GHIA’s efforts to raise funds from associates and NGO
funding organizations to help in achieving the goals of better health
for African women. Banjo has been involved in other religious
charities.
Banjo is married to Dr (Mrs) Adeola Adeleke and blessed with two
daughters and a son.
